Although Guitar Freaks and DrumMania from Konami already scored with plastic guitars and fake drums years ago, it were still Guitar Hero and Rock Band that mangaged to make a great deal of money out of it.

Konami must have seen that and so they have announced Rock Revolution . The versions for Xbox360 and PS3 look a lot like Rock Band since they contain both a guitar and a realistic drum kit and also 40 trakcs. Downloadable content via Xbox Live and PSN will be available too. The music will be varied, but the songs will all be covers.

Just as in Guitar Hero a virtual studio will be included to make your own songs. Playing with friends will be possible in several online, co-op and vs. modes.

The game will look differently for the Wii, because you will have to play air guitar and air drums. No accessoires, in other words, only going crazy with the controllers. When playing the game on the DS, the stylus will be the way to handle the guitar, drums and bass.

The game should be released by the end of this year.
